Boys Soccer News – From Coach Potter
The boys soccer team's playoff run ended in a 6-2 loss to defending State Champions, Northwestern HS. The scoreline does not reflect how tight the game really was. It was 2-1 at halftime and we pressed them most of the second half. After they pulled away 4-2, we needed to push players forward and ran into problems defensively. It was a great run and I am very proud of how hard the boys came together as a team the second half of the season and battled to the very end. We are only losing two seniors, so the boys should anticipate taking that last step next year and reach the State Final. THANKS to everyone who came out to support us this year!!!! AND, a special THANKS to Coach Lailson, Coach Frady, and our trainers (Marshall and Julia) for all their hard work on a daily basis.

Soccer Playoff story here
Our Boys Varsity Soccer team played our last regular season game at Byrnes and won 4-0. This win improved our record to 11 wins and 1 loss in the region AND a Region II Championship. This is the first Region title in many years and it would be great if you took a minute to offer the boys a word of CONGRAT'S. We have worked very hard since January and we could use your support next week when we open up our playoff run. Our opening round playoff game is Tuesday here on Freeman Field.
RANKED 9th in the state by the South Carolina Soccer Coaches Association!!

The Mauldin Boys beat Hillcrest for the second time this year and with it clinched their first Region championship in several years. Cam Dodds took a well passed ball from Michael Valencia and fired a bending shot into the upper right corner of the net for the only score of the game. The Mauldin defense held tough and kept Hillcrest out of the goal even with Hillcrest moving most of their players up into the goal box in order to score the equalizer.
